Tell the portal who you are, and your dashboard fills in โ€” your goals, your branch, and your place on the tree.

Add familyto the tree

Put a family member on the Monarch tree โ€” parents, add your children here, one profile each. (Joining yourself? That happens automatically when you create your account.)

Who are you?Demo

Pick the branch you belong to. Each of Our Motherโ€™s children heads their own branch โ€” Barbaraโ€™s card is for Our Mother herself.

When our children have children: pick the parent, and this member nests under their household on the tree.

Every kid can have their own sign-in so they can post, chat and vote too โ€” set it up together with a parent using Create account on the sign-in page. No email of their own? Use a parentโ€™s with a tag, like yourname+zuri@gmail.com. Adding them here without an account still puts them on the tree.

        What you needfor the Bahamas

Everything to handle before we board. Check things off as you go โ€” checks save on this device, so everyone keeps their own list.

Tip: a passport is the smoothest way to cruise, but on round-trip sailings from a U.S. port Carnival also accepts a certified birth certificate with a government photo ID. Confirm your documents early โ€” donโ€™t wait until summer.

        What NOT to bring

Leave these at home โ€” theyโ€™ll get pulled at Oโ€™Hare security or taken at boarding.

        At Oโ€™Hare โ€” airport security

        • Liquids over 3.4 oz in your carry-on โ€” full-size sunscreen & toiletries go in a checked bag
        • Power banks or portable chargers in a checked bag โ€” they must ride in your carry-on
        • Weapons, pepper spray & sharp objects (knives, scissors over 4 inches)
        • Torch lighters โ€” and vapes can never go in checked luggage
        • A full water bottle โ€” bring it empty and fill it after security
        • Marijuana & THC products โ€” banned in the air, and illegal back home in Indiana

Boarding the ship โ€” Carnival rules

        • Portable & Bluetooth speakers โ€” Carnival does not allow them on board
        • Surge-protected power strips & extension cords
        • Clothes irons, steamers, candles & incense
        • Your own liquor or beer โ€” one 750 ml bottle of wine per adult is the only exception
        • Drinks in plastic bottles โ€” bring sealed cans or cartons instead
        • Drones, hoverboards & weapons of any kind

Rules change โ€” give TSA.gov and Carnivalโ€™s prohibited-items list one last look before you pack.

        Resources ยท Guide 1

        Build yourcredit

Credit is a family tool โ€” it unlocks apartments, cars, business loans, and better rates on everything. Hereโ€™s the playbook, from scratch to 740+. Check off each step as you do it โ€” your progress saves on this device.

1Know how the score is built

        • 35% payment history โ€” never miss, never late. One 30-day late can drop you 60+ points.
        • 30% utilization โ€” how much of your limits youโ€™re using. Keep it under 30%; under 10% is best.
        • 15% credit age โ€” older is better. Never close your oldest card.
        • 10% new credit โ€” space out applications; every hard pull stings a little.
        • 10% mix โ€” a card plus an installment loan beats either alone.

300โ€“850 scale ยท 670+ is good ยท 740+ gets the best rates.

        2Starting from scratch

        • Secured card โ€” a $200 deposit becomes your limit. Use it for gas only, pay in full monthly.
        • Credit-builder loan โ€” from a credit union or an app; your payments build history while you save.
        • Authorized user โ€” get added to a trusted elderโ€™s oldest, cleanest card. Their history helps yours.
        • Report what you already pay โ€” rent-reporting services and utility-boost tools count payments you make anyway.

        3The habits that raise it

        • Autopay the minimum on everything, then pay the statement in full.
        • Check all three reports free every week at AnnualCreditReport.com.
        • Dispute every error in writing with each bureau โ€” errors are common and fixing them is free.
        • Ask for limit increases yearly (lowers utilization without new spending).

        4The traps

        • Payday & title loans โ€” they never build credit, they only take.
        • Rent-to-own and โ€œno credit checkโ€ financing โ€” you pay triple.
        • Paid โ€œcredit repairโ€ companies โ€” everything they do, you can do free.
        • Closing old cards โ€œto clean upโ€ โ€” it shortens your history and raises utilization.

        5Family action steps

        • This month: everyone pulls their three reports and sets every bill to autopay.
        • Pick one builder tool (secured card or builder loan) and start it.
        • Family check-in every 6 months โ€” celebrate the climbs on Family Chat.

        Make abudget

A budget isnโ€™t a punishment โ€” itโ€™s a plan that buys cruises. Hereโ€™s the Monarch way to run household money. Check off each step as you do it.

        1One month of truth

Before changing anything, track every dollar for 30 days โ€” an app, a note on your phone, or the back of an envelope. You canโ€™t steer what you canโ€™t see.

        2Start at 50 / 30 / 20

        • 50% needs โ€” rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, minimum debt payments.
        • 30% wants โ€” eating out, subscriptions, fun money (yes, it belongs in the budget).
        • 20% goals โ€” savings, extra debt payoff, and sinking funds like the cruise.

If 50/30/20 doesnโ€™t fit this season, adjust the numbers โ€” keep the three buckets.

        3Give every dollar a job

Zero-based budgeting: income minus every assigned dollar equals zero. Cash-stuffing envelopes work the same magic physically โ€” when the eating-out envelope is empty, the kitchen is open.

4Sinking funds โ€” the cruise secret

Big bills arenโ€™t surprises, theyโ€™re just slow. $20/month toward the Bahamas is a sinking fund. Add one each for holidays, car repairs, and back-to-school, and December stops hurting.

        5The emergency fund ladder

        • Rung 1 โ€” $500 starter (stops the small emergencies from becoming debt).
        • Rung 2 โ€” one full month of needs.
        • Rung 3 โ€” three to six months. Now youโ€™re unshakeable.

        6The family money meeting

Twenty minutes, once a month, snacks mandatory. Review last month, set this month, let the kids run the change jar and the grocery math โ€” money habits are caught, not taught.

A family guide โ€” educational only, not financial advice.

        Resources ยท Guide 3

        Start abusiness

Monarchs build. From the first sale to the LLC, hereโ€™s the path โ€” Indiana edition. Check off each step as you do it.

1Prove it before you build it

Sell three before you buy anything โ€” presales, DMs, a folding table. A business is proven by a stranger paying you, not by a logo. Keep the day job while you test.

        2Make it legal (Indiana)

        • Search your name, then file an LLC online at INBiz.in.gov โ€” Indianaโ€™s one-stop business portal (about $100).
        • Get your EIN free at IRS.gov โ€” never pay a website for an EIN.
        • Selling products? Register as a retail merchant through INBiz so you can collect Indiana sales tax.
        • Check your city and county for local licenses; some trades need state licensing too.

3Separate the money โ€” day one

        • Open a business checking account; every business dollar flows through it.
        • Pay yourself a set draw โ€” donโ€™t graze on the account.
        • Mixing personal and business money is how LLC protection gets pierced.

        4Simple books & taxes

        • One spreadsheet or app, updated monthly: money in, money out, whatโ€™s left.
        • Set aside 25โ€“30% of profit for taxes in a separate account.
        • Once profitable, pay quarterly estimated taxes โ€” future-you says thank you.

        5First customers without a budget

        • Launch to friends & family โ€” the Monarch network is your first market.
        • Do three jobs at a discount in exchange for reviews, photos, and referrals.
        • Post once a week where your buyers already scroll. Consistency beats ads.

        6Free help thatโ€™s actually good

        • SBA.gov โ€” plans, loans, and local events.
        • SCORE โ€” free mentors whoโ€™ve built businesses before you.
        • The Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) and your local libraryโ€™s business desk.

        Zennest ร—The Monarch

Zennest is our household-organization hub. Each branch will connect its own nest to the portal, so every household runs smooth while the family tree stays connected. It already powers the profile icons on our registration page.

        Chores & Allowances

Age-based chore boards per household, with allowances and streaks the kids can see.

        Family Calendar

Each nestโ€™s schedule โ€” practices, appointments, birthdays โ€” in one view per household.

        Routines

Morning and bedtime routines with gentle structure for the little ones.

The weekโ€™s dinners and the grocery list, shared across the household.

        Profiles & Avatars

The same member profiles you create here โ€” one identity across portal and nest.

Status: integration coming. Each household will get its Zennest invite from Kerstin โ€” the portal connection lands with the full version.
